Induction Coating Removal

Induction Coating Removal

A cleaner, safer approach to industrial coating removal

IPCQ provides Induction Coating Removal services onsite and at our dedicated Pinkenba yard through our partner ACR Tech, offering an efficient alternative to conventional coating removal methods on suitable steel assets.

Using advanced RPR induction technology, controlled heat is generated directly within the steel substrate. This breaks the bond between the coating and the underlying surface, allowing the coating to be removed in sheets or sections rather than being broken down through traditional blasting.

The process can significantly reduce airborne dust, abrasive consumption, noise, containment requirements and waste generation.

We provide the following induction coating removal solutions:

Induction Coating Removal can provide significant benefits for projects involving thick, high-build or difficult-to-remove coating systems:

  • No abrasive blast media required during the induction removal process
  • Minimal airborne dust
  • Virtually silent operation
  • Coatings removed in manageable sheets or sections
  • Less waste generated for collection and disposal
  • Reduced containment and clean-up requirements
  • Lower energy consumption than many conventional removal methods
  • Reduced environmental impact
  • Efficient removal of thick and high-build coatings
  • Suitable for controlled work in sensitive environments

Induction technology can be used across a range of steel infrastructure, including:

  • Pipelines and piping
  • Bulk storage tanks
  • Refineries and fuel terminals
  • Bridges and structural steel
  • Marine and port infrastructure
  • Mining and material-handling assets
  • Energy and utility infrastructure
  • Heavy industrial equipment

Following coating removal, IPCQ can provide the surface preparation, inspection and protective coating application required to complete the asset-remediation process.

Projects can be delivered onsite or transported to our Pinkenba facility, depending on the asset, operational requirements and project scope.
